Navajo County Shined in Democratic Turnout
A new analysis of the 2014 election shows Navajo County as one of only three counties in the state that beat the turnout projections of the Democratic party.
Navajo County Democrats exceeded turnout by 3.2% while Cochise was up 2.9% and Gila was up 2.1%.
Meanwhile, Maricopa was 6.6% below the expected Democratic turnout and Pima underperformed by 10.5%.
The highly effective early voting and get out the vote efforts in Navajo County paid off for Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick, who won the county by a margin of nearly 1,000 votes.
Kirkpatrick received 95% on the vote on the Navajo County portion of the White Mountain Apache Reservation, beating Andy Tobin 1,444 to 83.
