Benefit Raises $2,800 for Meals on Wheels, Love Kitchen
A highly successful fund-raiser at Pinetop-Lakeside Town Hall on Saturday raised more than $2,800 for Meals on Wheels and the Love Kitchen.

The event, sponsored by White Mountain Democrats, also gathered nearly 100 cans of food for the Love Kitchen.

John Graham of Meals on Wheels explained that the program is a vital tie to the outside world for elderly people who stay in their homes, noting that drivers for the program are sometimes the first to realize that someone on their route has passed away.

Meals on Wheels delivers to about 75 people in the area daily. The Love Kitchen provides meals for about 200 people a day.
